Our band running to the window to watch Gladwins Marching Band! Just like since they have done since first grade! The wonderments never ends!
What a great group of hard working musicians! Such fun! We have the entire show in the football field again this year BEFORE free time Thursday! Wowza!

This year at Band Camp I will NOT be printing the pictures for students to have. I will have drill chart pictures for Instructors though.
If you want to have these Drill Chart Pictures on your cell phone they can be very helpful to have in addition to the Coordinate Sheets you will be receiving on day one of camp. Simply scan these QR codes, download the PDF and keep it available on your phone!

ITEMS NEEDED FOR CAMP
*BAND INSTRUMENT and MARCH BAND SHOES
*CLOTHES FOR 5 DAYS (With several extra sets as you may end up getting wet)– Be prepared for cool mornings and hot days. Clothes should be casual. Shirts with sleeves are required at all meals!
*ATHLETIC SHOES AND SOCKS – In addition, you will need to have two pairs of good shoes (One can be your marching shoes and the others should be good tennis shoes) which will give good support to your feet; this is very important if you have one pair get wet. DO NOT bring new shoes because this will give you blisters. Also, socks are required for the protection of your feet. NO SANDALS are allowed on the field.
*RAIN GEAR – it WILL rain and we will get wet!
*TOWELS AND WASHCLOTHS and any other items you consider essential for grooming (I.e. soap, shampoo, etc.)
*BEDDING – Sheets (single bed), Pillow and Pillow Case, Mattress Pad (if Desired)), Blanket or Sleeping Bag.
•SWIMSUIT (If Desired) (One piece for ladies or you can wear a t-shirt over your top)
*NO SWIMSUITS OR HALTER TOPS at rehearsals
*SUNGLASSES AND HAT (Required at all rehearsals)
*WATER BOTTE OR PERSONAL COOLER FOR WATER AT THE PRACTICE FIELD.
*FLIP FOLDER AND LYRE for Brass and Woodwind members (can be obtained at camp but you SHOULD already have these items)
*INSTRUMENT needs such as Valve Oil, Cork Grease, Reeds, etc.
*MOSQUITO REPELLENT*MONEY for your extra activities and Snacks – Snacks and Beverages will be available at the concessions stand. Don’t bring large amounts of money.
*A GREAT ATTITUDE
*LIMIT ***ONE LARGE SUITCASE***
WHAT NOT TO BRING TO CAMP:
T.V.’s and game stations or handheld games of any kind
Any illegal drugs or alcohol will be reported to the proper authorities and will result in immediate removal from camp at the student’s expense
Our previously July 30th Booster Meeting is going to be switched to August 7th at 7pm in the Media Center.

Lots to discuss like how concessions will be runt his school year, Band Camp, Things we need donations for that you can easily donate and areas you can pitch in and lend your skills to help out the band kids!
BAND CAMP 2019 - REMINDERS
First of all - Camp is ALMOST HERE!
Secondly - If you have NOT PAID you HAVE to get that taken care of! Call, Email, Text, Ride your Bike, whatever - but get in contact with Mr. Shimmons with whatever questions/concerns you have about this!
Payment MUST be paid in full BEFORE boarding the bus to camp.
Thirdly - GET your instrument and start practicing more! Camp is going to be brutal if you wait until day one to start playing a bunch!
Lastly - GET OFF your couch and get active!
PS - Did you double check your packing list? Oh.... what's that? You LOST IT! (Must be a percussionist!) ((Just KIDDING!))
