GIVING TUESDAY - Give to what you love!
Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to generosity, giving and acts of kindness. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (Nov 29), Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable holiday season! Please consider a donation to the Farwell Area Schools Band Boosters in order to support the following: uniform replacement (as needed); the purchase of large instruments; student participation in special leadership/learning opportunities; and much more… Your donations and continued support are greatly appreciated! We wil arrive/unload at 4:30 Leave for Stands at 4:45 Seated 4:55 Alcona 5:00 Grayling 5:20 Tawas 5:40 Harrison 6:00 Houghton Lake 6:20 Ogemaw Heights 6:40 Frankenmuth 7:00 Gladwin 7:20 Reed City 7:40 Farwell 8:00 Pine River 8:20 Clare 8:40 We will leave Clare at 9:10 We will be back at the school at 9:20 They have a nominal admission for our spectator guests: $5 adult, $2 student, $10 family. This admission cost goes to cover costs of our clinicians. Concessions will be available, but the Clare Band program receives no money from concessions. BAND PICTURES NEXT FRIDAY for the next home football game we will be taking band pictures! We will start with individual pictures at 5:15 PM and the section pictures will start at 5:35 and the Full Band Group pictures will be at 5:50 Here is the order form. the students will be bringing this home Wednesday Sept 21!
Homecoming Information for all 7th-12th Grade Band Families
Farwell’s Homecoming is going to be Friday the 16th! All 8th-12th Grade Band students will be performing at the homecoming assembly during school Friday afternoon, during the parade after school and then at the football game that evening. Here is that info….. ASSEMBLY: Get instruments at release time (end of 5th hourish) Line up outside on sidewalk then lead the students through the hallways into the gym AFTER SCHOOL PARADE: The 7th-12th Grade Band students will all be combining to march in the Homecoming Parade which will start at 4 from the southwest corner of the High School (which is the band rehearsal field/parking lot) The Band Boosters are making arrangements to feed the band students some pizza, chips, cookie and a water right away after school for $3 - IF THEY CHOOSE TO EAT with us then please send the $3 to school by Wednesday the 14th.
FOOTBALL GAME - Pre-Game and Half-Time 8th-12th Grade Band students will have an hour then before they need to return to prepare for the football game.
LABOR DAY PARADE - This Monday!!!!
9th-12th Grade Band Students will be marching as usual for the Parade! DRESS CODE – Show Shirts and Blue Jean Pants/Shorts Students should be in the band room at 9 - Lined up in the band parking lot by 9:06 – Parade STARTS at 10AM Band should be done by 10:15 probably Make plans with your kids about where to meet them afterwards! Band Camp Notes and Signups and Packing List Reminders
Remember that back on April 12th we announced the NEW BAND CAMP DATES - August 8 to August 12. SCHEDULE NOTES - The full marching season schedule is on the band website! Monday
Parents will need to take students home with them after the performance. Band Camp Snacks We need volunteers to donate some snacks for the band kids while we are band camp. We give them these in between rehearsals and after rehearsals and in the evenings. We need things like salty snacks, cookies, pretzels, popsicles, fruits - Apples, Oranges, Bananas, Granola Bars, Rice Crispy Treats Please sign up on the sign up list inside the Band App Group if you would be willing to donate some of these items!
