Our Performing Groups at Farwell Area Schools

The Bands at Farwell Schools are meant to provide our students with a wide variety of performance opportunities as a part of large and small ensembles as well as individuals.

Symphonic Band

Grades 9-12
This group is our Symphonic Band that will perform concerts at our school, the local community and also around the state of Michigan for various Band Festivals

Marching Band

This group is comprised of 9th-12th graders mostly and performs at our home varsity football games, as well as taking part in various Marching Band Reviews and Competitions around Michigan.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENT NOTICE (See Syllabus Above for Symphonic Band)

Concert Band

Comprised mostly of 8th Grade Students, this group will perform concerts at our school and possibly take part in some band festivals. This group will often join forces with the older grades for various activities.

Pep Band

This group performs at many of our home sporting events throughout the year.
This group is simply an extension of the students enrolled in Symphonic Band alongside various Alumni and other Community Members

Farwell Middle School Bands

5th and 6th Grade
This is where the journey starts. Year long beginning band classes in 5th and 6th grade both.

7th Grade
That musical journey then continues on in the 7th Grade MS Concert Band

Melodic Fusion, Jazz Combo, Percussion Ensemble

Our extra ensembles. These meet before and after school and explore ensembles along with the non-traditional music education like electronic instruments and alternative ensembles like percussion with trash cans or body percussion.
